This is a somewhat good project book with clear drawings and explanations for a variety of useful tools. But be warned, this isn't a how-to book for beginners, you'll need to pair it with a book on basic machine shop skills.EDIT: Now that I'm actually making projects from this book I'm finding that the diagrams are missing important dimensions.

Photos are just not as clear as I have come to expect from anything published after 2000. Information is good, but this is the sort of book that relies on photos and illustrations, and they are far from optimal. Still helpful as a wannabe machinist, so 4 stars.

A nicely printed and organized book. But the B&W photos are a little grainy although the line drawings are very clear. My only problem is that the "tools" are limited in application and I only found one that I might build.

Somewhat disappointed. Very outdated and tools chosen were of limited use. Look for another tool project book.

I am a little surprised at some of the comments left about this guide. Is this is the best travel guide I ever read? No, but does it deliver what was promised? Yes. I wanted a guide(for our cross-country RV trip) that shows what amenities are available at various RV and some of the national parks along our trip. This guide provided all fo that and more. But I was not expecting a detail road trip through every city of every state as that would be a monumental task the size of the guide would be over thousands of pages. I don't need that. I was not looking for that, instead, as I mentioned I wanted to find out about various RV parks, their cost and what each of them has to offer.If you are taking a road trip and planning on staying at various RV parks around the country, this is the guide you want to have on your dashboard so you can quickly look up the next upcoming parks on your route. This guide became very handy during our month long trip and I must say, it did save us time, money and headache a few times and that is the very reason I gave it a 5 star that it deserves.

RV traveling is more popular than ever before. It is the new favorite hobby for almost every age group and I am no different. I love to travel, and traveling in an RV is like being on the road and taking my home-comfort with me. But when you are driving around such a big vehicle, you really need to know where you are going, where you will be parking and where you can find all the hookups for it, and that is when a book such as this comes into play. This book has all the current information any RV traveler needs to be on the road, all the RV parks, the cost and even all the famous sightseeing places in every state. All in all a great guidebook that is handy to keep in your RV

That really sums up this read.If your only plan is something like “I want to visit Florida” than this book is THE starting point , as it gives you at least one suggested RV trip per state which you can either follow or use to base yourself off of to create your own. Depending on the state, sometimes the author gives you a “historic tour” and sometimes a “location tour” meaning sometimes you get an insight into what the state is known for and some events that happened there and sometimes you are simply given a list of places that are “a must” to visit. Either way, if you were completely clueless, after reading, you now have a better idea of some places you could stop at.Something I really liked about this book is that starts at the very beginning, as in, it clarifies (for those of us who had no idea) that there is a difference between RV parking and RV camping as well as explaining to you what it is, and it also states some ground rules for each. Then it goes even further by giving options for each type in every state; VERY useful in my eyes.Though, I'll also add that something I didn't really like is that though it suggests stops and even gives approximate travel times, it doesn't really give directions I.E. take so and so street, or whatever road for best travel, or something like that. But I'll allow that it could be because roads change, *traffic* and also to give some needed wiggle room for other stops to be added. That said, at the very end of the book *it does* list five long distance RV trips that are based on specific routes, soooo. Not completely satisfied on the details count, but personally it's acceptable; this after all very kindly *does include maps* despite that it's intended to be a trip guide *not* a road map guide.Overall I found this book to be informative and if I ever do go on that RV trip I'll definitely consult this during planning.I'd recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of taking a road trip on an RV keeping in mind that this is only intended to give a good general overview of RV traveling in the US; not a road map to your ideal trip. So if you want a detailed street by street exposition of a state, this book probably isn't for you. If you are more experienced and are looking for those niche hard to find RV sites, than this is probably not for you either. Aside from that, I found this to be an excellent starting guide.

If you want to visit every state in "mainland" USA in an RV, this is the book for you. It won't take you to every possible camping ground that allows RVs to park, but you will be able to see at least something in every state, and drive a lot of miles in the process! For example, in New Jersey, you will take a drive though Atlantic City, Ocean City, and Cape May - all of which can be very crowded at peak times, and the driving times provided will be longer than are printed in the book. How you get to and from those destinations is up to you, but there are suggested camp sites in Cape May, and suggestions for state parks that may be open to you. In Pennsylvania, you will visit Gettysburg, York, and Lancaster - again with no directions on how to get there. There is mention of Erie, but that would be a long day trip - it takes 5-6 hours to go from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh in a regular car (I have done that trip several times!). Definitely worth getting this book even if you don't want to go camping, in an RV or a tent, because it provides some interesting details about each town that they suggest you visit.

This is a no-frills RV travel guide that every RV owners must have. As we all know how important it is to have accurate camping/RV park information ahead of arriving. Saves time, money and stress. I cross-checked four RV parks around our area and found every one of them to be matching this book's information.

I bought this book based on some of the good reviews, but there are few really bad ones that made me very curious about this book. Not to mention I needed a book such as this which would save me time researching online for various RV parks throughout the country. After going through it, I felt I should really add my two cents here. This book delivers what the author promised on the cover. It is a no frill guide to good and decent Rv parks including some in various National parks throughout the country. Yes, it does not list all the RV parks in each city and state, because that would make this a minimum of 2000 page book. Not to mention there are no images of RV parks in the book, again I think that would make the book size really huge. But if you are planning on a cross-country trip, this is a good resource to have on your dashboard.

This was a difficult book to write, not the least of which because of my disabilities. Many I interviewed were cautious about what they said and wanted approval over how they were quoted. Many did not agree with what others said. Some including doctors, lawyers, risk managers and insurance researchers, wouldn't even talk to me. It was suggested several times I co-author the book with an M.D., but I knew that wouldn't be the book I felt was needed. Everyone did agree a book from a patient's perspective was needed. Not everyone will agree with what I say. It is my hope that I've sparked a conversation. Â

Years ago I worked with a woman who was an amazing statistical typist. For 8+ hours a day, she’d hunch over thick print-outs that came from California’s border stations and ports, perform complex tabulations, and enter all of the data into a dozen single-spaced columns. It was a job that no one else in the clerical pool wanted but she’d happily type away without a care in the world. One day, however, she started complaining that her hands and wrists were hurting. Her typing began to noticeably slow down, coupled with frequent breaks that peeved her co-workers. Several of them went so far as to say that she was becoming lazy and just trying to get out of work.For all intents and purposes, she looked perfectly fine on the outside and it was essentially her word against anyone else’s that she was in excruciating pain from the repetitive motion tasks she was performing. Unfortunately, this was during a time when not as much was known about carpal tunnel syndrome. What do you want from me?"Some tips which I learned by now, and which Jill doesn't mention, are:(1) EMFs and UV and chemicals of computers, and outgassing electronics, aggravate the situation by heating and electrifying the body, thus sparking the nerves and steadily eroding them. Not to mention quickened heart rate, speeded metabolism, triggering of UTI and worse.I've developed Tarsal Tunnel syndrome in my foot, and computer EMFs cause shooting sparks to radiate into that neuropathic foot (not the other foot).Try to imagine the soft tissue of your arch feeling sensitive as your eyeballs. OUCH! This book should be under fiction. I began having symptoms of carpel tunnel, was promptly diagnosed and treated within a month. I have had very knowledgeable physicians, BCBS was very helpful and my recovery was text book. I also work in the medical field and have never head of anyone having the problems this author is trying to portray. I know many, many people who live full lives with great careers with RSI. There is treatment. Why would the doctors not want to treat an illness? That's ridiculous! Its books like this that scare normal, working class people from seeking the help they need. I found myself asking " why didn't she go someplace else". Maybe the reason she didn't qualify for workers comp was that she hadn't worked enough. Maybe all the time she took off to travel worked against here. I'm sure her Medicaid still covered treatment options. Disappointing.

I found the chapters on how an RSI is diagnosed and treated the key elements to provided hope to patients .The book is an inspiration for each patient to manage their pain.Ms. Gambaro's book is a must read for Physicians and Patients who treat and have been affected by RSI's.

I have taught "To Kill a Mockingbird" (TKAM) in my sophomore English classes for eleven years. This biography provided interesting insights into the life of Harper Lee, and I saw many connections to TKAM. For example, the fact that Mrs. Finch has passed away and is barely mentioned in the novel always perplexed me. After reading the book, I now know why. I also know why Nelle/Harper Lee originally planned to name the book "Atticus."The biography is a "must" for anyone teaching TKAM or anyone who just loves the book (count me for both).

The story of Nelle's life is almost as fascinating as Scouts' with so many parallels, it makes for a great read! Timely reading for me with her recent passing offered some valuable insights into her life and character. If you loved "To kill a mockingbird" this is a great follow-up, after you read "Go set a watchman" of course!!

The back of this National Geographic volume announces "Warriors Needed," and asks its young readers "How would you like to join the team that defends your people and your homeland?" It explains that your main duties as a Aztec warrior will be to defend your city against invaders, conquer new territory, control conquered peoples and collecting tribute from them, and taking captives to sacrifice to the gods. Just hurry to the main square of your city when you hear the beat of the big drum and you will be taking the first key step in learning "How to Be an Aztec Warrior."Written by Fiona Macdonald and illustrated by Dave Antram and Mark Bergin, this book asks young readers to imagine that they are living in the Aztec city of Tenochtitlan between A.D. 1300 and 1500 (in other words, right before the Spanish invaders will arrive in Mexico and destroy the Aztec Empire within two years). So basically you would be joining up during the height of the empire and can avoiding being killed by the diseases and guns the Spanish will bring to your land. The book takes a very practical approach to this topic, as well it should being a National Geographic "How to Be" volume. If you are part of a noble family you can become a top military officer, otherwise forget it. But if you are loyal to your "calpulli" (clan or large family group), went to the right school, and can handle weapons, then you can enlist and as soon as you take your first prisoner you can cut your hair (Aztec warriors would rather capture enemy soldiers, so that they can be sacrificed to the gods, then kill them).Actually, "How to Be an Aztec Warrior" gets beyond what you need to be a good warrior, by asking questions--such as "Will You Miss Home Cooking?", "Will You be Able to Travel," and "Can You Please the Gods?"--that allow Macdonald to work in other aspects of Aztec daily life. There are also practical concerns are the danger of being in battle (to cover the subject of medicine), and rank (so you understand the importance of jaguar knights and eagle knights). The final chapters (two-page spreads), cover the Aztec Emperor and the "Long-term Prospects" for your life as an Aztec warrior, which is not pretty good because the Spanish are coming, the Spanish are coming. For a better sense of why this is a monumental tragedy in the history of two cultures meeting you will have to look elsewhere, because it is outside the scope of this volume.In the back of the book there is "Your Interview," where you get to answer ten questions to see if you have what it takes to get the job. You need a score of 8 for this to be your destiny, but if you score fewer than 3 you are probably destined to be poor. There is a glossary of terms, both English (e.g., "ancestor," "tribute") and Aztec (e.g, "catcli," "xicolli"), and a couple of books listed for Further Reading about the Aztec and other Meso-American cultures. Other volumes in the series explain how to be a Roman soldier, medieval knight, and Samurai warrior. The books are aimed at ages 8-12 and what they do is attract readers who will be predominantly young boys and while providing interesting facts about being an ancient warrior slip in other key aspects of that particular culture as well. So Macdonald, Antram and Bergin might just be sneaky enough to become officers, even if they were not born into noble families.
