This time, the Dynamic Duo (Sean Wyatt and Tommy Schultz) are joined by Sean’s love, Adriana Villa, forming the Intrepid Trio. They are on the case of the disappearance of an archeologist from a dig site in India. What starts out as a missing person hunt quickly becomes a chase to prevent a psychotic Hollywood star from saving the planet by destroying major polluters using an ancient weapon of mass destruction belonging to the Hindu god Shiva. Add in the Chinese version of the CIA, a few more plot twists, and you’ve got all sorts of trouble. The action takes the reader on a tour through the mystical temples of India with the proper curses, booby traps and puzzles to be deciphered. Sean is still dealing with some issues that developed in The Templar Legacy, but the trademark banter with Tommy and the comfort of Adriana see him through to the final dizzying climax at the top of the second-tallest building in the world (in Shanghai, China). All in all, a fun read with life-changing events for all the major players at the end.

Another exciting archeological adventure from Ernest Dempsey. As with all the stories in this series, Sean and Tommy start out doing something relatively “normal” (at least for an archeologist solving an ancient mystery), and within a short time, are cast into the middle of a “save the world” adventure with lots of historical places, shoot outs, and puzzles which, if solved, can lead to amazing wealth and power. Of course Sean and Tommy are never alone, there is always an evil cabal, or syndicate, or insane ruler or billionaire searching for the same thing at the same time. This is what makes these adventures so much fun; you never know who or what is going to pop up when the boys start their adventures. Love the snarky comments and ribbing between the main characters. After reading the last book, it was nice that June and Adriana have rejoined them, even though I enjoyed them being together in their own series for a while. Finally, as a long time reader of these stories, I loved the ending. Looking forward to the next adventure. I was given an ARC to read and review, if I wanted to, but it was so well done I purchased a copy. Keep up the great writing!

This one takes place in India while the team seaks to solve an ancient puzzle. I have read about this sealed chamber before and it was always interesting to me so this episode intrigued me from the start. The author is able to combine ancient history and mystery with a little make believe to put together stories that grab your attention and keep you turning pages. It’s hard to put a Dempsey novel down once you start so plan ahead. I have loved this series from the start and the author has grown in ability by leaps and bounds. I am on the advanced reader list and get pre release copies but always buy the books too because they are that good. The characters feel like people you know and the plots are both interesting and full of ancient mysteries. This one ends in a surprising way for the series and sets up for lots of new things to come for the team. I loved it.

I know - I have felt that each one was the best yet, but I was wrong. This story grabbed me from the first page and did not let me go until it was done with me! And the ending? Well I won't do any spoilers, but if you have been following this series, you will absolutely love it! Even if this is your first, you will love it, and I know you will then want to read the entire series. Like another reviewer said, I am going to go back to the beginning and read all 16 books again - yes, this series is that good! You will be doing yourself a huge favor by getting this book, and even more so if you get the whole series. Thank you so much, Ernest. You are the best! Now I will patiently wait for the next one. Sort of patiently!

This is another terrific tale from the pen of Ernest Dempsey. Sean Wyatt and his friends continue to save the world from highly unlikely, but realism-grounded situations, events, and psychologically unbalanced bad guys in a most entertaining manner. One does not want to quit the book, even for bedtime and meals. Notably, Ernest Dempsey continues to deliver adventure episodes free of vulgarity and smut, if often gory, believable for the most part, although escape from some situations is often hard to imagine, smacking of James Bond incidents from which escape is impossible--but happens. Always an unexpected character twist shows up to change the outcome as well, and someone perishes for their flawed performance.Sean Wyatt and his friends continue to more fully develop into increasingly more believable characters as the novels progress. In The Forbidden Temple, Wyatt more fully tries to come to grips with his enjoyment of killing. It will be interesting to see where that goes in future--and there will be a future as promised by Dempsey. Meanwhile, some interesting recipes from the area are available as well if one follows Mr. Dempsey's prompts.I received an advance copy of this novel in return for an honest review. I have no personal relationship with Ernest Dempsey or his family, but truly enjoy his work.

I love the different levels/connected stories that all come together in an totally Dempsey style! The twists and turns of the plot. Then bring out the foibles of the main characters to make them more believable in our minds. I am not scared of heights or snakes BUT I do have my own fears. By seeing what makes up the heroes - they become so real. I learned a bit about different religions, different regions of the world and the Archaeological world as I never would anywhere else. If you need to escape for awhile, get away from it all - this is the story for you! Good Job Mr. Dempsey - Good Job!!!
