About the Author
Tim Grobaty, a Long Beach native and resident, has been a reporter and columnist for the Long Beach Press-Telegram for more than thirty years. He has won numerous awards, including Best Columnist in the Western States in the Best in the West journalism competition in 2009. He is a recipient of the Long Beach Heritage Award for his columns about the city's history, and he is an inductee in the Long Beach City College Hall of Fame. He lives in Long Beach with his wife, Jane, and children, Raymond and Hannah.

I'm from Long Beach so I wanted to do a little research on this city. I loved the old pictures and stories. Great book for your coffee table.
Loved this book. I read the author's column daily, and I'm Long Beach born and bred. Brings back alot of good memories.
As a columnist for Long Beach's major newspaper, the Press Telegram, Tim Grobaty has written some of the best and subtlety funniest articles around- putting him on a par with the best of Dave Berry, et al. So it was interesting to read a factual account of local history by the gifted humorist. The writing brings local history alive, and the use of the vast photos records from the newspaper itself, make this book a must have for locals, as well as everyone else interested in the vastly changing 'biggest little town in America'.
Great historical perspective of Long Beach from one of the Press Telegram's current best columnists. Good use of historic (black and white) photographs. Very Enjoyable!
