This book is frightening. It's scary to know that these are true stories that happened to real people. It definitely reminds you that playing with ouija boards or calling out to the dead is very dangerous and can ruin your life! I recommend this book to anyone who has questions about the paranormal world and would like an understanding. I like that the Warren's add their take to each story as to why this happened and what it means. I can't wait to start reading book 2. I believe there are a total of 7 books. This was an easy and good read! You won't be able to put the book down until you're done!
It is difficult to review a book on the paranormal. People either believe in ghosts or they do not. I don’t really think that skeptic is a good term, as it means that the person investigating the case really has no opinion. Their mind is already made up in most cases.I am a member of a few paranormal websites. I have been fascinated with ghosts and haunting from childhood. My experiences have lead me to never doubt that something might be very real. You ignore such things at your peril.Ed and Lorraine Warren dedicated their life to the investigation of the paranormal. This I believe is book one in their series of reports of the paranormal. This book deals with ghostly events occurring in the Union Cemetery in Connecticut. The cemetery is very old and has a reputation for haunting that has stretched back over centuries. These are the tales from Ed and Lorraine’s investigations as well as stories reported to them. The stories are short and I find some of them lacking in any interest beyond the fact that it’s Union Cemetery. I felt that given the reputation of Ed and Lorraine the tales could have been so much more. I am sure they are faithfully recorded but I am missing the rest of the story, you know? I need to feel the case, not just read it…I give the book three stars…Quoth the Raven…
This book is not for the faint of heart. This book is one of many case files that were done by Ed and Lorraine Warren. Intense, engaging, disturbing. This is a book of real life family's struggle to break free from a demonic hold. This is a precautionary book. A must own for anyone who has a deep interest in the paranormal and other worldly phenomenons.
This is the first of the Ed & Lorraine Warren books that I have read. They are the supposedly true accounts of the various paranormal phenomena that the Warrens' have investigated. I enjoyed this book. I thought that it was well written, the stories were interesting and the book was true to its graveyard theme. I had a bit of trouble believing that the stories were all completely true. I can't help but think that perhaps there was a little bit of embellishment. This didn't detract from the book however. I'll definitely get the next book in the series.
While I've always been a fan of these two, I will say that some of the theology is off. Encouraging people to talk to the dead? We dont need anything from the dead; they need our prayers. And as for people becoming demons? I'd say no. They can become possessed, but I would hope they are wrong. There were many editorial mistakes in the book, so maybe that could be part of the problem.
It' s not really close to the intensity of their other books. Still love the Warren's other books though.Try "In A Dark Place"It will take you for a ride... 5 stars.
Great and Spooky! "Graveyard" is a fun, spooky, entertaining, informative book. I especially loved the gorgeous East Coast atmosphere. I have read a few of the Warren's other great books, which can be very frightening, and I am never disappointed. "Graveyard" is not as intensely scary, but nevertheless it's a very interesting read, with good information about the spirit world. If you enjoy good, creepy, ghostly tales this is highly recommended. Includes wonderful information on New England history as well. I loved every minute reading it!
Another interesting book from Ed and Lorraine Warren. I'm from Connecticut so any ghost stories or such I'm always interested in. This takes on some notable cemeteries. If you're afraid or nervous around cemeteries now this book will make sure you're afraid forever. Very interesting and enjoyable read for any fan of ghost stories.
